Joseph J. Massad, DDSRemovable Prosthetics IntroductionWidely regarded as a leader in the field of removable prosthetics, Dr. Massad is known worldwide for his extensive national and international continuing education programs for the dental profession. Dr. Massad’s programs include his highly acclaimed educational videotape lecture series. He also has published numerous articles in leading peer-reviewed journals and trade publications. Dr. Massad’s private practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma is focused on removable complete prosthodontics. Professional AffiliationsIn addition to his private practice, Dr. Massad is currently an Associate Faculty member of The Pankey Institute, where he has served since 1993. He also holds an Adjunct Associate Professorship at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Previously, he was a faculty member at the Michael Cardone, Sr. School of Dentistry (in Tulsa, Oklahoma), where he served as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Oral Medicine and the Department of Oral Diagnosis and Radiology between 1982 and 1987. Dr. Massad also was associated with the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry as a preceptor faculty member from 1979 to 1988. He is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, and is a member of numerous other dental organizations, several of which he has served as president. He was a member of the Oklahoma Board of Governors of Registered Dentists for seven years, during which time he was the Chief Dental Examiner, President, Vice President, Ethics Committee Chairman, and Secretary-Treasurer. Dr. Massad has received several honors and awards and is a National Sponsor for the Academy of General Dentistry. Educational BackgroundDr. Massad graduated from Saint Gregory College and the University of Tulsa with an A.S. and B.S. respectively. He received a D.D.S. in 1975 from the Loyola University School of Dentistry (Illinois), and completed the Continuum Series in 1987 at The Pankey Institute. Dr. Massad continues to follow an extensive program of continuing dental education. Publications/Videotape SeriesHe has published numerous professional articles in The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, The Pankey Gram, Bulletin for the American Association of Dental Examiners, Journal of the Oklahoma Dental Association, Dentistry Today, Compendium of Continuing Dental Education, and International Journal of Periodontic and Restorative Dentistry. He was also Co-Editor of The Oklahoma Board of Governors Newsletter. Dr. Massad also has produced three teaching videotapes: “Predictable Complete Dentures,” “A Dynamic Method for Setting Removable Complete Denture Teeth for Optimum Function,” and “A New Denture Soft Liner.” Each of these videotapes has received praise throughout the dental community. Dr. Massad’s latest educational videotape, “Helpful Hints for Difficult Denture Problems,” will be released in March, 2000 and will be available exclusively through rdental.com. LecturesDr. Massad’s lecture schedule includes more than 25 domestic and international presentations annually. He has been a featured speaker at the American Prosthodontics Society, as well as the American Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, Federation Dentaire International, and many other prestigious dental groups. He has given numerous workshops and presentations to various well known national and international organizations as well as teaching institutions, such as: Michael Cardone, Sr. School of Dentistry; University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry; The L.D.
